valentines crafts sweetheart box

Valentine's Day Sweetheart Picture Frame

This is a great Valentine present for your students to give to their parents. (Or your family to give to grandparents). Recycling a candy box and turning into a magnetic picture frame is sure to make family smile. Of course, then you can use the candies to make your valentines presents for others too!
 Valentines Day Craft Sweethearts
You will need
Individual Sweetheart conversation heart boxes with clear, cellophane heart cut-out on front; one box for each child,
small photo of each child,
strip of self adhesive magnets
tape
WHAT TO DO:
Give each child a small, empty box of conversation hearts. (Make sure you get the boxes that have the heart shaped cut out on the front.)
Take individual pictures of each child, then cut the child's picture out and insert it into the box so that that it will show through the heart shape window in the front.
Tape the picture to the inside of the box to secure it.
Add a strip of self-adhesive magnet to the back of the box and this makes an adorable refrigerator magnet for the parents.
tip: You may want to tape the top of the box shut also to protect the picture.

Valentine's Day is a craft gold mine. You could make anything, decorate it in pink and red hearts - and maybe some paper doilies - and you've got instant love-gushing goodies. The extra bonus is that imperfection is just fine. No one cares about showing glue or crooked edges, which makes it ideal for playing with techniques that might be new to your kids.
